About The Position

The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger provides exceptional customer service while helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment. The role involves bagging groceries carefully, assisting customers with their merchandise and loading bags into their vehicles, maintaining shelves and store areas, returning merchandise, gathering carts, and supporting store operations. The associate follows safety and food-safety procedures, complies with applicable laws and company guidelines, and demonstrates respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and concern for others’ safety. Responsibilities

Bag customers’ groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while preventing damage.
Use appropriate bagging practices for reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Assist with removing merchandise from the bottom of customers’ carts for checkout.
Offer to help customers load bags into their vehicles.
Perform basic shelf conditioning.
Inform customers about grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather carts and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Clean areas inside and outside the store.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Learn the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues, and notify store management.
Follow food-safety regulations and guidelines.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Welcome customers and answer questions about products in the department and throughout the store.
Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues.
