The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries, helps customers with merchandise and loading bags, maintains store and parking lot cleanliness, returns merchandise to shelves, gathers carts, and supports store operations through shelf conditioning, price checks, seasonal merchandise handling, and informing customers of grocery specials. The role helps create a welcoming environment, follows safety and food safety requirements, and complies with applicable laws and company guidelines. Responsibilities

Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while preventing damage to items.
Follow best practices when bagging items in reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Assist with removing customers' merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
Perform basic shelf conditioning.
Inform customers of grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Clean all areas inside and outside the store.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues, and notify store management.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Answer questions about products in the department and throughout the store to help customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
