We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission. The Jackson County Circuit Court in Medford, Oregon, is hiring a Jury Clerk (Court Operations Associate). In this role, you will communicate daily with jurors over the phone and by email regarding all aspects of our petit (trial) jury and grand jury processes. You will review online juror responses, dismiss or postpone potential jurors’ service as needed, scan and enter documents into juror records, and prepare and record our nightly juror reporting messages. You will conduct weekly in-person jury orientation sessions in front of approximately 75 potential jurors. You will also assemble and distribute juror lists for the courtrooms and maintain juror attendance and payroll records. For grand juries, you will send letters to potential jurors, conduct orientation, issue jury oaths, swear in potential alternate jurors, assemble and populate jurors into prospective panels after orientation, maintain juror records, and enter grand jury payroll on a biweekly basis. You will work as a team with other jury clerks to ensure a great experience for all our jurors. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting.
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks.
  • Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies.
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
  • Skill in public speaking and addressing large groups (more than 25 audience members).
  • Ability to start the process of CJIS clearance within the first week of hire.
