Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting.
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks.
  • Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies.
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
  • Skill in public speaking and addressing large groups (more than 25 audience members).
  • Must start the process of CJIS clearance within the first week of hire.
  • Must complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States within three days of hire.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and will be verified by E-Verify.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with jurors over the phone and by email regarding all aspects of petit (trial) jury and grand jury processes.
  • Review online juror responses.
  • Dismiss or postpone potential jurors’ service as needed.
  • Scan and enter documents into juror records.
  • Prepare and record nightly juror reporting messages.
  • Conduct weekly in-person jury orientation sessions in front of approximately 75 potential jurors.
  • Assemble and distribute juror lists for the courtrooms.
  • Maintain juror attendance and payroll records.
  • Send letters to potential jurors for grand juries.
  • Conduct grand jury orientation.
  • Issue jury oaths.
  • Swear in potential alternate jurors.
  • Assemble and populate jurors into prospective panels after orientation.
  • Maintain grand jury records.
  • Enter grand jury payroll on a biweekly basis.
  • Work as a team with other jury clerks to ensure a great experience for all our jurors.
  • Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
