About The Position

The Prince of Wales Trial Court is accepting applications for a Court Case Manager 2. This position plays a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the Prince of Wales Trial Court by managing cases from filing through closure across all case types, including civil, small claims, probate, children's, criminal, minor offense, and alcohol underage matters. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing filings, maintaining accurate case records, scheduling hearings, tracking motions and post-judgment activity, preparing and distributing court orders and notices, processing payments, assisting customers at the front counter, answering inquiries, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with court rules, procedures, and established policies. In addition to comprehensive case management responsibilities, this position serves as the in-court clerk for judicial proceedings, preparing courtrooms, coordinating hearings, operating recording equipment, administering oaths, managing exhibits, and processing all courtroom documentation following hearings. The position also administers the court's jury program by summoning jurors, maintaining jury records, coordinating jury trials, and processing juror payments. Additional duties include processing warrants and protective orders, handling mail and records management, and performing accounting and deposit functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.
  • OR Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.
  • OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
  • Ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).
  • Valid keyboarding certificate demonstrating a minimum typing speed of 40 net words per minute (WPM) dated within one year.
  • Post-secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications.
  • A list of at least three (3) professional references, who have had supervisory authority over you along with their daytime contact phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Copies of your most recent (2) performance evaluations, if available.
