About The Position

The Court Advocate Coordinator will provide client-centered, trauma focused, court support services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human sex trafficking, stalking, and teen dating violence. This employee will attend all court hearings, assist with preparing petitions, compile documentation, and work with the Staff Attorney to provide these legal services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, criminal justice, political science or similar field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Court Advocate or in a legal office setting.
  • Working knowledge of the Tribal and state of Oklahoma Court System in the areas of criminal court proceedings or family court proceedings.
  • Active Process Server license in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or Nation vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, criminal justice, political science or similar field.
  • Requires leadership skills and the ability to take initiative.
  • Familiarity with the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, stalking, and/or human trafficking.
  • Must be able to always maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must have OVTTACC (Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Requires a prominent level of organization and project management skills.
  • Requires a prominent level of personal integrity and ethics.
  • Requires a prominent level of problem-solving and technical writing skills.
  • Requires familiarity with writing Emergency Ex Parte Orders of Protection.
  • Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions.
  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Requires good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
