About The Position

This position is for a Course Lecturer for NUR2 515 (F26): Applied Statistics for Nursing at the Ingram School of Nursing. A Course assignment includes all or part of the teaching activities such as preparation of the Course and Course plan, delivery of the Course, evaluation of students, submitting attendance and grades reports, supervision of Teaching Assistants or other support staff, reviewing student grades upon request, and meeting with students to answer questions and provide advice on Course content and requirements. The role also involves maintaining the myCourses learning platform by posting readings, entering grades, monitoring discussion boards, and answering student questions. Communication with students will be via myCourses or email as needed. McGill University is an English-language university requiring English communication verbally and in writing. Requirements

  • Doctorate in Biostatistics or Epidemiology
  • Demonstrated skills in teaching at a master’s level
  • Ability to facilitate student learning through lectures and lab instruction
  • Ability to communicate (in writing and verbally) in English and understand French
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the Course and Course plan
  • Delivery of the Course
  • Evaluation of students
  • Submitting to the University a report on student attendance and students grades
  • Supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff
  • Upon request, review of their students’ grades
  • Meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements
  • Maintain the myCourses learning platform (post readings, enter grades, monitor discussion boards, answer questions, etc.)
  • Communicate with students via myCourses or email as required.
