About The Position

The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) has an opening for a Sessional Lecturer for the MGT260 Managing Human Potential course for the Fall 2026 academic term. This position is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902, Unit 3 Collective Agreement. The course focuses on human resource management from a manager/practitioner perspective, covering current theory and practices in major HR functions, and utilizing class exercises and projects for practical experience. The appointment period runs from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The minimum stipend rate for a Sessional Lecturer I is $9,997.47 (0.5 FCE), inclusive of vacation pay, subject to collective agreement rates. Minimum TA support is estimated at 0.75 hours per enrolled student. Preference will be given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III. Requirements

  • Superior teaching ability.
  • Suitable academic and/or professional qualifications.
  • Currency and mastery of the subject matter.
  • Clearly demonstrated teaching excellence in the subject matter through previous experience teaching the course in question, or very similar courses.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of course content, including lectures and/or seminars.
  • Creation of course ware.
  • Development and administration of assignments, tests, and examinations.
  • Marking and grading of student work and submission of grades.
  • Maintenance of reasonable hours of student contact outside of scheduled contact hours.
  • Supervision of the day-to-day work of any Sessional Instructional Assistants or Teaching Assistants assigned to the course.
