About The Position

This position is for a Course Lecturer for GERM 259 - Introduction to German Literature, covering the period from the Middle Ages to the Age of Goethe. Requirements

  • M.A. in German
  • Native or near native fluency in German required
  • A minimum of two semesters as instructor of a course at a similar level or to be a graduate student in German Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at McGill University
  • Demonstrate a familiarity with the course materials used in German Studies language courses
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located
  • English communication both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the Course and Course plan
  • Delivery of the Course
  • Evaluation of students
  • Submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades
  • Supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff
  • Upon request, review of their students’ grades
  • Meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements
