About The Position

The Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED) is inviting applications for a Course Lecturer position for the Fall 2026 semester. The course, Foundations of Sustainability for Engineering and Design - SEAD 500 (3 credits), will be delivered on Mondays and Tuesdays over a few weeks during the semester. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, Science, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience in a university environment in English and/or French.
  • Demonstrated knowledge (e.g., through publications, theses, work experience) in sustainability perspectives from different fields and disciplines, including the social and political dimensions of sustainability, and their implications for problem formulation and policy development and analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ethical considerations and strategies of implementation as related to engineering and design.
  • Past experience in integrating multiple perspectives and dimensions, and various stakeholder perspectives in addressing sustainability challenges in engineering and design professions.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course Foundations of Sustainability for Engineering and Design - SEAD 500.
  • Deliver course content on Mondays and Tuesdays over a few weeks during the semester.
