About The Position

The Department of History and Classical Studies is inviting applications to teach HIST 214 Early Modern Europe, a survey of European history from the Late Middle Ages to the eighteenth century, during the Fall 2026 semester. This course will be taught in-person by one instructor. The teaching period is from August 31 to December 4, 2026, with classes scheduled on Monday and Wednesday from 2:35 to 3:55 pm in Leacock 219. Requirements

PhD or ABD in Medieval or Early Modern European history.
Authorized to work in Canada.
Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located.
English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Teach HIST 214 Early Modern Europe, a survey of European history from the Late Middle Ages to the eighteenth century.
Conduct the course in-person.
Deliver lectures on Monday and Wednesday from 2:35 - 3:55 pm.
