About The Position

The Department of History and Classical Studies is inviting applications to teach HIST 214 Early Modern Europe, a survey of European history from the Late Middle Ages to the eighteenth century, during the Fall 2026 semester. This course will be taught in-person by one instructor. The teaching period is from August 31 to December 4, 2026, with classes scheduled on Monday and Wednesday from 2:35 to 3:55 pm in Leacock 219. Requirements

  • PhD or ABD in Medieval or Early Modern European history.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based/located.
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Teach HIST 214 Early Modern Europe, a survey of European history from the Late Middle Ages to the eighteenth century.
  • Conduct the course in-person.
  • Deliver lectures on Monday and Wednesday from 2:35 - 3:55 pm.
