About The Position

The Courier procures specimens from physician offices, delivers reports, files laboratory reports, and orders tests and labels specimens according to established protocols. The role provides courier services to clients, ensures specimens and required billing information are secured and correct, and supports communication between physician offices and the laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Provide laboratory courier services to clients and secure specimens in a timely manner.
• Verify that required billing information and correct samples are provided before leaving a physician office.
• Act as a liaison between physician offices and the department director, ensuring problems and concerns are handled appropriately.
• Develop a strong communication link between the laboratory and physician clients.
• Fill supply orders using approved policies.
• Order tests and label tubes with minimal errors.
• Check requisitions for correctness and completion.
• Take copies of requisitions to admitting in a timely manner.
• Deliver reports and file laboratory reports.
