About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking a full-time Courier based out of Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia. The role is described as a day shift with a rotating-flexi schedule and requires working one weekend per month.

The Courier picks up and delivers a variety of items, including deposits, medications, equipment, supplies, X-ray films, laboratory specimens, letters, marketing materials, and packages. The role also involves safely operating and maintaining the assigned vehicle, tracking laboratory specimens, reports, supplies, and other barcoded items, and maintaining vehicle safety logs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certification, or one year of courier experience in lieu of a high school education.
• Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver deposits, medications, equipment, supplies, X-ray films, laboratory specimens, letters, marketing materials, and packages.
• Operate the vehicle safely.
• Keep the vehicle clean and well maintained.
• Maintain vehicle safety logs.
• Submit requests for vehicle maintenance or repairs in a timely manner.
• Track laboratory specimens, reports, supplies, and all barcoded items.
