About The Position

This role provides short-term supportive services to families facing child abuse or neglect concerns. The position helps staff and families by offering transportation, guidance, and practical assistance. As a County Social Services Aide 3, you will perform the following duties: Family Support: Assist families in meeting basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, and employment resources Transportation Help: Provide transportation for clients to appointments, visits, and emergency situations Visit Monitoring: Observe family visits and report behaviors, concerns, and progress to staff Record Assistance: Pick up and deliver records, letters, and documents for caseworkers and other staff Community Contact: Help clients connect with community services and participate in multi-service planning meetings Staff Collaboration: Support workers with tasks such as home visits, safety plan monitoring, filing, mailing, or clerical needs

Requirements

  • One year as a County Social Services Aide 2
  • Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and three years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information
  • An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of experience in a human services agency
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
