County Social Services Aide 1 (Local Government)
About The Position
Wayne County Children & Youth Services is looking for a caring and responsible person who will make a difference by providing services to families with children in all areas including parent education, nutrition, life skills, etc. This entry level position supports families in their homes by helping them build skills for daily living and strengthen safe routines. The role works closely with caseworkers to provide direct assistance that improves overall family well-being and works toward positive goals and outcomes. Requirements
- Graduation from high school; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Be able to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

- Possible travel requiring overnight stays.
- Possible after-hours appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance in areas such as budgeting, parenting routines, hygiene, nutrition, cooking, and household upkeep
- Help parents complete forms, access needed services, and manage daily responsibilities
- Drive consumers to supervised visits and required appointments
- Offer child care when needed during service appointments
- Prepare written reports for each appointment and share updates with the team
- Participate in meetings, contribute to treatment planning, and attend court when required
