About The Position

We are searching for an adaptable, motivated, compassionate candidate to take on life saving professional social service work of a supervisory nature with the Lehigh County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities/Drug & Alcohol Crisis Intervention/988 and Information & Referral Unit. As a part-time County Casework Supervisor with our Crisis team, you will assist in the coordination and oversight of program operations and participate in work to ensure the delivery of effective information, referral, and crisis intervention services on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week basis, through rotating shift schedules. In this part-time County Casework Supervisor position, you will function as a working supervisor with our Crisis Intervention/988 and Information & Referral Unit and be responsible for both supervisory and direct service responsibilities. This includes telephone crisis intervention, 988, walk-ins, and mobile outreach services.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff coverage and shift scheduling to ensure consistent service delivery, particularly during weekends and high-demand periods
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and consultation to assigned staff on casework activities, crisis intervention practices, and service delivery expectations
  • Develop new and current staff through training, coaching, and skill building activities
  • Communicate effectively with consumers, family members, law enforcement, hospitals, and community agencies to coordinate care and resolve service-related concerns
  • Review cases and call recordings; ensure documentation complies with all requirements; and analyze findings to inform staff development, training needs, and performance evaluations
  • Answer 988 and crisis line calls, conduct mental health assessments, and complete mobile outreach when needed
