About The Position

Capital Electric, a distributor of electrical construction materials and part of the Sonepar group, is seeking a Counter Sales associate for its Durham, North Carolina location. The role involves selling products to customers, helping them select appropriate products, and developing customer relationships to help Capital Electric remain the Electrical Distributor of Choice. The position also involves some warehouse support and meeting monthly sales and gross-margin goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good and dependable mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Reliable, responsible, and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Sales experience and/or electrical knowledge; training may be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming customer phone calls.
• Greet walk-in customers.
• Assist customers with orders and provide appropriate product selection.
• Pick customer orders from the warehouse and bring them to the counter.
• Prepare customer sales tickets and charge accordingly.
• Promote and sell company product promotions.
• Provide assistance with certain warehouse functions.
• Reach monthly sales and gross-margin goals.
• Treat customers with courtesy and politeness.
• Multitask and continually prioritize tasks throughout the day.
• Perform other duties as required.
