About The Position

The Counter Parts Sales Rep provides service to customers by phone or in person through sales of heavy-duty parts, matching customer needs with parts availability while helping generate profit for FleetPride. The role involves identifying and obtaining requested parts, recommending related products, handling sales and returns according to company procedures, and answering product questions. The position also maintains product knowledge and keeps the counter and display areas organized to encourage sales.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalence certificate.
Intermediate knowledge of Windows XP, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Active listening skills.
Ability to communicate information effectively.
Time-management skills.
Persuasion skills.
Service orientation and an active interest in helping people.
Minimum of 2 years of sales experience.

Experience selling heavy-duty automotive parts.

Responsibilities

Help determine and obtain heavy-duty parts requested by customers by phone or in person, and suggest related parts for full service.
Locate and obtain ordered parts for customers from the central warehouse or branch.
Determine customer sales prices in accordance with company procedures.
Handle warranty or defective parts in accordance with company procedures.
Write up approved charge sales in accordance with company procedures.
Special-order parts on an emergency basis when necessary and appropriate.
Process approved credits for returned merchandise.
Maintain confidentiality of pricing lists and structures as required by company procedures.
Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and product features.
Provide customers with current product catalogs.
Use non-selling and non-servicing time to study catalogs and review price sheets, bulletins, and product changes, additions, and deletions.
Keep the counter parts area clean and orderly and ensure display areas encourage sales.
