About The Position

Byram Archibald Neighborhood Center (BANC) is an after-school program dedicated to nurturing children's social and emotional growth within the surrounding community. It provides opportunities for children to explore the world through play and interaction. The program serves 90 children, aged 5-12, who reside in the Byram community, with most attending New Lebanon Elementary School.

Requirements

• All applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Applicants must be available to work Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-5:30pm.
• Applicants will be required to complete a State of CT background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Providing childcare to afterschool children.
• Supervising children and facilitating activities.
• Facilitating arts & crafts activities, sporting activities, free play activities, etc.
• Supervising the children at the afterschool program.
• Assisting the children with homework and reading groups.
• Attending field trips and in-service exhibits with the children.
• Ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children.
• Assisting with daily tasks, participating in activities, and offering support to children.
• Demonstrating positivity and respect to children, staff and parents.
