AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Cost Controller to join their growing team based in Calgary, Alberta. The Cost Controller will be part of a high-performing project team that will be based in their downtown Calgary office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost control or project accounting, preferably in infrastructure or transit projects.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, cost allocation, and financial risk management.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, Primavera, Power BI).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project cost control systems and procedures.
  • Track and analyze project expenditures against budget and forecast.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analyses, and financial dashboards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads to update forecasts and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate change orders and their financial impact.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support procurement and contract management teams with cost-related insights.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide financial guidance and updates.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing invoices, accruals, and cash flow projections.
  • Maintain accurate records of project budgets, actuals, and forecasts.
