Cosmetology Instructor
About The Position
Paul Mitchell the School Salt Lake City is seeking a Learning Leader to teach and support Future Professionals in its classroom and clinic environments. Learning Leaders plan and facilitate classes using the school’s accredited and approved curriculum, helping students meet graduation requirements for practical and theoretical knowledge. Classes are designed to engage students with different learning styles and intelligences. The role also involves coaching team members on clinic-floor systems and contributing to a positive, collaborative learning environment. The position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is part-time, with a Tuesday–Thursday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Experience instructing at a cosmetology school or adequate experience in the cosmetology industry.
- Current Utah state cosmetology license.
- Current Utah Instructor license.
- Excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills.
- Skills in supervision, teamwork, documentation, and return on investment.
- Solid work history with verifiable references.
- Passion for the beauty industry.
- Honesty and professionalism.
- Positive and effective communication, customer service resolution, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to self-motivate, meet goals, multitask, and think on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Successful previous teaching experience; teaching experience is not mandatory.
- Knowledge of Paul Mitchell Schools’ cultural and technical systems.
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate classroom and clinic classes using the school’s approved curriculum.
- Help students meet graduation requirements in hands-on and theoretical knowledge.
- Inspire, inspect, and coach team members in clinic-floor systems, including upselling, rebooking, and guest service.
- Contribute to a fun, engaging learning environment and work collaboratively with the team.
- Resolve customer service issues and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
