About The Position
The Cosmetics Beauty Advisor at Bloomingdale’s provides excellent service and sells the full assortment both in store and online. The role focuses on building and maintaining client relationships through outstanding service and product knowledge while maintaining compelling merchandise presentation. Beauty Advisors provide makeup application lessons, skin care consultations and treatments, and current trend advice. They are welcoming, friendly, and engaged, keep the sales floor energized, and put customer needs first. The role also supports merchandising and operational requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous selling experience required, preferably in cosmetics.
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- May need to reach, crouch, kneel, stoop, and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
- Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Create an easy, seamless, and enjoyable in-store experience while building and cultivating customer relationships.
- Drive sales with in-store and online clients by embracing and demonstrating proficiency with technology.
- Participate in merchandising and operational requirements.
- Provide makeup application lessons, skin care consultations and treatments, and current trend advice.
- Maintain compelling merchandise presentation and provide product knowledge and outstanding customer service.
