About The Position

Bloomingdale’s is seeking a part-time Seasonal Cosmetics Beauty Advisor focused on fragrances at its Sherman Oaks location. The role is part of the cosmetics department, described as the heart of the store, and centers on building and maintaining customer relationships through outstanding service and product knowledge. Beauty Advisors sell the full assortment in store and online, support compelling merchandise presentation, and provide makeup application lessons, skincare consultations, and treatments, along with current trend advice. The advisor is welcoming, friendly, and engaged, keeps energy and excitement alive on the sales floor, and puts customer needs first. The position also involves using technology to serve clients and participating in merchandising and operational requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous selling experience; cosmetics experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and perform activities that may include reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping.
• Color vision.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

• Create an easy, seamless, and enjoyable in-store experience while building and cultivating customer relationships.
• Drive sales with in-store and online clients by embracing and using technology proficiently.
• Provide outstanding service and product knowledge while selling the cosmetics assortment in store and online.
• Provide makeup application lessons, skincare consultations, and treatments, and offer current trend advice.
• Maintain compelling merchandise presentation.
• Participate in merchandising and operational requirements of the role.
