About The Position
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, and move materials to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks. The role requires safe, qualified forklift operation, equipment inspections, timely stock delivery to production machines, and monitoring products for conformance to quality standards. The employee completes production and operational paperwork, maximizes equipment utilization, follows the daily production schedule, and may recommend schedule optimizations to support cost, quality, delivery, and service goals. Duties may be expanded or changed, and the position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain a current Fork Lift Operator License.
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
- Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Knowledge of product quality specifications.
- Knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be applied to efficient operation.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry.
- Prior work experience as a forklift operator.
- Knowledge of various material-handling equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and care for a forklift safely and maintain qualification to operate it.
- Complete and document a forklift inspection before the start of a shift and when operating a different forklift.
- Submit maintenance work orders to supervision when repairs are needed.
- Locate stock before the start of a production run.
- Deliver the appropriate stock to the appropriate machines safely and on time.
- Examine products to verify that they conform to quality standards.
- Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and on time, including production, machine operational status, safety, and quality data.
- Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Adhere to the daily production schedule and recommend optimizations to help meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
