About The Position

Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the transfer car. The role delivers stock to machines, maintains stock storage areas and records, follows production schedules, and supports safe, efficient manufacturing operations. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be qualified to properly operate the transfer car.
• Must maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy; calculate percentages, measurements, volume, and rate; and apply high school mathematics.
• Able to carry out written, oral, or graphic instructions using common-sense understanding and address problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts and production specifications, product quality specifications, and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator.

Responsibilities

• Operate and care for the transfer car safely; be qualified to operate it properly.
• Complete and document a transfer car inspection form before the start of each shift, and submit maintenance work orders to supervision for repairs.
• Deliver appropriate stock to the appropriate machines safely and on time.
• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
• Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate stock locations in storage areas using paperwork and computer records.
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Adhere to the daily production schedule and recommend schedule changes to help meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety and good housekeeping requirements.
