About The Position

Veritiv is seeking a Corrugator Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. This role is responsible for observing, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical devices. The mechanic will dismantle devices, examine parts for defects, and replace or repair them. They will also be responsible for installing new parts, lubricating and cleaning equipment, and testing performance. Additionally, the mechanic will operate metalworking tools to create or repair parts, initiate purchase requests for necessary items, and perform electrical repairs. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, proficient math and English skills, and demonstrated competence in secretarial skills. A minimum of 1-2 years of related experience is required. Candidates must possess their own tools.

  • Demonstrated competence in secretarial skills (typing, computer, word processor, copier, facsimile machine and general clerical)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines form and texture or parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase request for parts and machines.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
