Requirements
- Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the plumbing trade.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and on-the-job instruction in plumbing systems, distribution systems, drainage systems, heating systems, fire sprinkler systems, and building plumbing
- Maintain order and discipline, deliver curriculum, and track inmate attendance and training progress
- Assign daily schedules, direct inmate work crews, and inspect finished plumbing work assignments
- Issue, inventory, and account for all tools and materials used in training and work assignments
- Determine needed materials and tools and prepare purchase requests when necessary
