Requirements

• One year of experience in performing skilled mechanical repair work involving heavy machines
• Graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledges, skills, and abilities
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
• Ability to perform essential job functions
• Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and routine tasks to keep boilers, compressors, and water systems functioning correctly
• Test water systems and maintain accurate logs of treatment supplies and results
• Carry out seasonal start-up and shut-down procedures for chilled water and cooling tower systems
• Inspect and maintain standby generators, fuel tanks, batteries, and related equipment
• Supervise inmate workers and maintain safe, secure work areas while monitoring movement and tool control
