About The Position
This position provides structured masonry instruction and oversees inmate work assignments to ensure efficient operations. As a Corrections Masonry Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Classroom Instruction: Deliver lessons that teach masonry practices, methods, and procedures. On the Job Training: Guide inmate work crews as they complete masonry repair and construction tasks. Worksite Oversight: Maintain order, discipline, and safety during all training and work activities. Progress Tracking: Document training results, attendance, and assignment details for each inmate. Tool Management: Issue, inventory, and account for all materials and tools used in training and work assignments. Project Planning: Determine needed materials and submit purchase requests to support masonry projects.
Requirements
- Four years of experience in laying brick, blocks, and other types of building materials, and binding with mortar to construct or repair walls; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the masonry trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the masonry trade.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Be able to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
