Requirements
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Guide inmate crews as they complete construction, maintenance, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks
- Plan daily schedules and check completed work for accuracy and quality
- Teach proper use and basic care of tools, machinery, and vehicles
- Maintain discipline, ensure safe practices, and document inmate attendance
- Assist maintenance staff in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, or welding
- Issue, track, and secure all tools and materials, including searches of work areas when needed
