About The Position
The Corrections Utility Plant Operator at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Chester plays a key role in keeping essential systems running smoothly. Requirements
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain boilers under normal and emergency conditions
- Inspect and service pumps, fans, and other auxiliary systems
- Test boiler water chemistry and manage treatment supplies
- Keep the plant area clean and complete daily inventories
- Report concerns to supervisors and complete required paperwork
