Requirements
- Two years of clerical experience, including one year in the field of corrections; or Any combination of experience and/or training which provides the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Examine publications, packages, and other items from postal and courier services to detect contraband
- Retrieve mail and deliver admissible items to designated areas using approved equipment
- Maintain logs of inmate property and ensure documentation is accurate and compliant
- Respond to inmate request forms and provide information in a timely manner
- Stay current with changes to regulations and procedures that affect mail processing
