About The Position
As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman for the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Somerset, you will support daily operations by supervising inmate crews and assisting with hands-on maintenance tasks. Requirements
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee inmate work crews completing maintenance, construction, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks
- Plan daily schedules, give instructions, and inspect completed tasks for quality and safety
- Provide guidance on the proper operation and preventive maintenance of machinery and vehicles
- Assist with skilled and semi-skilled work in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical
- Issue and inventory tools and materials and conduct searches to ensure all items are accounted for
