About The Position

The Programs Director I reports to the Correctional Associate Warden of Programs and is responsible for directing and monitoring programs for the rehabilitation of offenders housed in the prison system. This role involves administering programs with a broad scope and complexity, assisting the Associate Warden with offering a variety of program services for the offender population, and directing a major program on a regional or statewide basis. The primary program areas include offender classification; correctional programs (incentive wage, educational/vocational, volunteer, religion, cognitive-based interventions, and recreation); and correctional supportive counseling. The position also oversees offender case management conducted by subordinate staff and coordinates programs with custody, medical, mental health, and other facility staff.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a human services or criminal justice field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in correctional programs management or related work
Or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
