About The Position

This position is located at NC Correctional Institution for Women in Raleigh, NC. NCCIW is a female all custody facility. Reporting to the Correctional Food Service Manager III, employees in this class are responsible for supervision of Correctional Food Service Officers and providing oversight of offenders.

Requirements

Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302)
Pass a criminal background check
Produce a negative drug screening result
Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
Possess a valid driver’s license
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in institutional food preparation and food services, in management of a commercial food service operations, or as a Correctional Officer, or one year as a Correctional Food Service Officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

Nice To Haves

Documented knowledge of sanitation, preparing menus, managing inventory, and/or other large-scale food service production activities.
Documented knowledge of supervision of employees and/or offender workers

Responsibilities

Perform large-scale food production inside an all custody prison facility.
Supervision of food preparation and services of regular and therapeutic diets for the offender population.
Coordinate plans, direct, and supervise the daily preparation of food and serving food.
Duties include food preparation, storage, menu planning, menu planning to use substitutions, maintaining sanitation requirements, and recordkeeping.
Use a computerize food and nutrition system to prepare and serve daily meal.
