About The Position

The Core Processor at Wayne Auto Salvage processes incoming automotive cores for resale. The role includes identifying cores, draining fluids and arranging proper storage for disposal, removing parts as needed, and preparing and packaging products for sale and shipment. The processor weighs and inventories packaged cores, prepares outgoing shipments, and assists with loading outbound products. Forklifts, chain hoists, drain tables, and other necessary tools are used to move and process cores. The position aims to process cores safely and efficiently, accurately document inventory, and process products at a rate that meets or exceeds incoming volume. The role includes quality control to ensure fluids are drained, parts are removed properly, and package weights are accurate when required. The processor must follow safety and environmental regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, inspect equipment, use proper lifting and handling techniques, and report issues to a supervisor. Other duties may be assigned. The work is based at Wayne Auto Salvage, 1911 Hwy 117 South, Goldsboro, NC 27530. Work takes place in a core-processing workstation in a shop or dismantle area, with occasional movement around the salvage yard. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, with occasional overtime as determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and professionalism in internal and external transactions.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment.
Ability to collaborate across functions and share expertise with others.
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to meet timelines and schedules related to essential job functions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to use both hands regularly with sufficient dexterity to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
Ability to lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 75 pounds, with or without assistance.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certificate preferred.
Automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive incoming cores and identify them for processing.
Drain fluids from cores and ensure proper storage for disposal.
Remove parts from cores as necessary.
Prepare and package core products for shipment and resale.
Weigh, package, inventory, and accurately document processed cores.
Assist with loading outbound core products.
Operate forklifts and chain hoists to move cores and loaded boxes or crates.
Use drain tables and necessary tools to remove parts from cores.
Process cores at a rate that meets or exceeds incoming product volume and do so in a timely manner.
Follow quality-control guidelines, including accurate package weights when necessary.
Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations when handling and processing cores.
Wear proper personal protective equipment, inspect equipment, and use proper lifting and handling techniques.
Report issues to a supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
