About The Position
This role is for a 2nd shift Cope Chop Saw operator. The primary responsibilities include chopping and staging parts for assembly, operating equipment in the miter door cell, and moving material. The position requires a strong emphasis on safety consciousness, good housekeeping habits, and attention to detail to minimize scrap. Employees must meet all quality standards and production goals and be willing to perform other tasks as needed for departmental success.
Requirements
- Two to three years of work experience
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Ability to distinguish colors and species
- Ability to read a tape measure and caliper
- Math and computer skills
- Ability to read/write/communicate in English
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Self-starter who works effectively without close supervision
- Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull carts
- Hand dexterity and strength
Nice To Haves
- One year of production experience or similar in carpentry or fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Work neatly (gluing and stapling doors) and meet quality standards
- High School diploma or GED
