About The Position

We are looking to fill a Communications and Marketing Coordinator position within our national Client Development and Outreach team, whose work consists of increasing the firm's visibility in the Canadian legal market. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications and Outreach, the successful candidate will actively contribute, in collaboration with several teams and members of the firm, to strengthening our strategic communications and enhancing Dentons' brand image nationally. We are looking for a creative and rigorous individual with a strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills, who is familiar with corporate communications and shows a keen interest in social media and content performance tracking. They will play a key role in Dentons' external outreach by writing and revising content for various platforms, while monitoring results and providing recommendations based on collected data to improve the firm's communication strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally in a professional services environment, including experience in creating content for social media (primarily LinkedIn) and analyzing content performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and translate data into concrete recommendations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong writing and editing skills.
  • High level of meticulousness and excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under often very tight deadlines.
  • Excellent command of PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office suite software.
  • Creativity, dynamism, motivation, initiative, strong results orientation, and a desire for continuous improvement and learning.
  • Exemplary professionalism, teamwork, and ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.
  • Proficiency in English is required as the incumbent will provide services to firm members located in our offices outside Quebec. Given that the position requires the ability to communicate both orally and in writing with members of our six offices in Canada, as well as the production of complex deliverables under tight deadlines, proficiency in English is essential.
  • Candidates must submit a copy of their CV and cover letter in English, as several members of the selection committee for this position speak only English. Writing tests will be required as part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Review articles, bulletins, and other client-facing content, and propose improvements to texts as needed; work collaboratively with various teams to ensure optimal dissemination across all our communication channels.
  • Create and publish engaging content on LinkedIn, recommend appropriate visuals, and propose strategies to improve content reach and performance.
  • Write, revise, and adapt communications intended for external audiences (press releases, firm announcements, etc.), while ensuring compliance with the firm's brand guidelines and editorial style.
  • Coordinate the editorial process for client-facing content, in close collaboration with lawyers and internal teams, from review to publication, to ensure content quality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing content highlighting the firm's priority sectors and practice groups, as part of communication plans integrating social media amplification and content repurposing.
  • Monitor the performance of content published on social media, particularly using LinkedIn analytics, and provide recommendations to optimize its effectiveness.
  • Participate in media monitoring and intelligence activities.
  • Ensure the updating of activity tracking tools and the team's editorial calendars.
  • Participate in various projects aimed at enhancing the firm's visibility, in collaboration with cross-functional teams (client development, events, brand management, internal communications, translation, talent management, etc.).
  • Perform any other assigned tasks, including certain administrative duties.
