About The Position

Reporting to the International Transportation and Customs Manager, the Customs Coordinator will be responsible for receiving and processing customs requests related to the operations of the Live Productions Division (shows, tours, special projects, and equipment transfers between offices). The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting the team with various administrative tasks related to transportation and customs.

Requirements

  • DEC in Logistics, SCCD and CIFFA certifications;
  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures: terminology, processes, documentation, and classification;
  • At least 5 years of experience in customs—experience with a customs broker, in the export of audiovisual equipment, or in the export of rental equipment is a plus;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and set priorities;
  • Strong sense of autonomy;
  • Bilingualism: French and English;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to multitask;
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and interact with various departments;
  • Computer skills, including experience with Excel and Word;

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, and approving export documentation in strict compliance with transportation and customs regulations as required (e.g., commercial invoices, CERS, FDA, USMCA, TSCA, and other various documents);
  • Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to address any questions and resolve customs issues;
  • Prepare TIBs (Temporary Import Bonds) and other documents required for the export of rental equipment;
  • Ensure rigorous daily monitoring of TIB documents and all other export documents;
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of trade compliance programs (e.g., CERS, FDA, USMCA, TSCA);
  • Provide shipping and customs cost estimates upon request;
  • Process reservations, complete shipping manifests and labels, track shipments, and resolve any issues that may arise for all our shipments based on internal requests received;
  • Foster good relationships and communication with our transportation and customs suppliers;
  • Communicate our customs compliance requirements to all Solotech suppliers on behalf of our internal departments;
  • Approval of supplier invoices for transportation and customs brokerage in the ERP system;
  • Actively participate in operational and sales meetings to ensure that our transportation and customs needs are met within the project-specific deadlines;
