Requirements

  • Attestation in collegiate studies or diploma in professional studies or the academic equivalent, and experience in customs industry is required; CCSC (Certified Customs Specialist) Certificate preferable.
  • 0 - 3 years’ experience in consulting and/or in customs clearance
  • Basic knowledge of Miscrosoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Fluent in French and English (both orally and written), because this position serves clients and communicates with suppliers outside Quebec;
  • Ability to communicate clearly;
  • Ability to manage stress;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Professionalism;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • CCSC (Certified Customs Specialist) Certificate preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation, customs clearance, and classification of air, ocean, and ground shipments.
  • Ensure costs related to the file are indicated on the billing document.
  • Ensure the delivery of merchandise.
  • Comply with the laws and regulations of the different governments and the ISO standards set out by the company.
  • Resource person for clients regarding customs procedures.
  • Communicate with different stakeholders in an effort to offer superior service.
  • Present innovative solutions to clients.
  • Communicate, without delay, pertinent information and issues to the immediate supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Prepare and follow claims, amendments, and drawbacks.
  • Understand and comply with the laws and regulations of different governments as well as procedures established by CEVA – Air & Ocean Canada including ISO norms of the company.
  • Approve and follow up on certificates of origin.
  • Support agents in the customs and consulting department.
  • Other duties as defined by the immediate supervisor.
