This position assigns and directs daily duties to shipping and receiving personnel and coordinates all re-supply order shipping and receiving activities.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of warehouse operations as it relates to the specific function of movement and inventory systems.
  • Familiarity with PC based software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Inventory Management Systems, Radio Frequency Bar Coding Systems, and data entry skills a must).
  • Knowledge and experience with Oracle 11i Inventory Management System major plus.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Initiative, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Read, write and understand English with good oral communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact optimally at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member and work well in a moderately stressful environment.
  • Clean, neat, organized and alert.
  • Two years’ experience in general warehousing and inventory control.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successfully completed a forklift safety class and is certified to operate and maintain this certification.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily shipping activities such as pulling, packing, and preparing of re-supply order shipments and raw material shipments in accordance with the shipping procedures.
  • Verify outbound shipments prepared by shipping personnel to assure accuracy of all items and quantities requested to ship.
  • Coordinate shipping schedule with Global Transportation to assure all shipments meet their scheduled cut-off ship dates and direct shipping personnel accordingly.
  • Immediately notify Transportation and/or Supply Chain Planning of any delays or shipping issues.
  • Maintain and distribute shipping documents accordingly.
  • Update the Oracle inventory management system via the pick/ship confirmation process immediately upon departure of a shipment.
  • Verify item/location/quantities on picking list and re-allocate item/locations as necessary to assure items are decremented from the correct location upon performing the pick/ship confirmation process.
  • Coordinate daily receiving activities and verify dock receipts completed by receiving personnel to ensure all inbound shipments that arrive by end of day are processed within the Oracle inventory management system by the end of each workday.
  • Complete discrepancy reports for any loads where the inventory does not match what is in Oracle.
  • Accurately print bar code labels for products received for use with the radio frequency bar code scanners.
  • Update and email the Receiving Report daily.
  • Reconcile all inventory variances related to both RO Shipping and Receiving activity. If unable to resolve, report such variances to the department Supervisor or Manager for resolution.
  • Update daily the RO Shipping and Receiving Logs to track department performance. Forward to department Supervisor and Manager monthly for further review.
  • Help with cycle count and physical inventory processes in accordance with set counting schedules.
  • Accurately record counts and report any variances found during count process.
  • Perform weekly random inventory audits as an additional tool to ensure inventory related activities and practices are being followed in accordance with all established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Responsible to report any safety hazards, unsafe working conditions or suspicious activities/people to Manager, security, safety committee member or any management team member.
  • Support the re-work process when time allows.
  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned or as necessary.
  • Coordinate all shipping and receiving activities with the shipping and receiving lead.
