About The Position

The Coordinator of Facilities and Risk Management will support the daily operations of the UREC Natatorium. This role involves overseeing the recruitment, training, and supervision of over 30 part-time student staff members in areas such as risk management, customer service, and facility inspections. The coordinator will manage the swim lesson program, including registration, finances, updates, and ensuring adherence to national standards. This position also assists with budget management for the UREC Natatorium and swim lesson program, while overseeing pool operations, including aquatic reservations and events. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport management, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least one year experience in recreation, collegiate/recreational sports, gym or pool operations
  • Experience supervising part-time staff

  • A Master’s degree in recreation, sport management, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two-year's experience in recreation, collegiate/recreational sports, gym or pool operations
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop, supervise, and evaluate over 20 student staff in part-time positions.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures within facilities including program and staff manuals.
  • Manage equipment, operations, and maintenance for all the UREC Natatorium.
  • Oversee swim meet management and aquatic reservations.
  • Ensure up to date maintenance of all equipment, preventative maintenance, and repair needs.
  • Develop, supervise, and evaluate 10 swim lesson instructors.
  • Oversees the quality and success of the swim lesson program.
  • Prepare, forecast, and monitor all annual income and expenses for pool operations and swim lesson program including payroll and maintenance.
  • Maintain comprehensive participation and program records for activity, semester, and annual reporting.
  • Be knowledgeable with program and departmental software application and website maintenance.
  • Assess risk management and maintain program compliance.
