About The Position

The Coordinator, Inbound Domestic Transportation coordinates and monitors inbound domestic collect transportation to ensure timely, cost-effective freight delivery to Walgreens distribution centers. The role tracks daily shipment activity, identifies and resolves transportation delays, and serves as a liaison among suppliers, freight carriers, and internal business partners. It analyzes transportation performance, manages shipment visibility and exception reporting, and develops recurring reports to support operational improvements. The coordinator also participates in carrier communications, service issue resolution, and special projects.

Additional responsibilities described include monitoring accounts receivable and payable functions for the Tax department; auditing and reporting Walgreens taxes and related charges; reconciling and accruing ocean freight charges; analyzing detention; creating and presenting import volume reports; and working with ocean carriers and Walgreens distribution centers to minimize ocean container detention charges. The role supports process improvement and assists managers and supervisors with projects such as Lean initiatives, presentations, and data analysis.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in a supply chain, logistics, or business role.
• Experience in logistics, such as import operations involving ocean freight, deconsolidation, and consolidation.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including functions such as SUM, formatting, charts, text wrap, sorting, headers and footers, and print scaling.
• Intermediate Microsoft Word skills, including inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers, and tables, and adjusting table columns.

Nice To Haves

• Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions, drive improved results, and find solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with a Transportation Management System such as Mercury Gate/Infios or Blue Yonder.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track accounts receivable and payable functions for the Tax department; audit and report Walgreens taxes, detention, demurrage, customs exams, and miscellaneous assessorial charges.
• Work with business partners to resolve outstanding issues and meet with business partners that support Walgreens.
• Reconcile and accrue all ocean freight charges.
• Perform in-depth analysis and reporting on detention.
• Recommend ways to streamline existing processes and participate in developing new processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Create and track import volume reports and present them to the management team.
• Assist managers and supervisors with projects, including Lean initiatives, PowerPoint presentations, and data analysis.
• Work with ocean carriers and Walgreens distribution centers to minimize ocean container detention charges.
• Monitor inbound domestic collect transportation and shipment activity, identify and resolve delays, and support timely, cost-effective freight delivery.
• Analyze transportation performance, manage shipment visibility and exception reporting, and develop recurring reports to drive operational improvements.
• Participate in carrier communications, service issue resolution, and special projects.
