About The Position

Better Living Health and Community Services is searching for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Coordinator, Deauville Community Program. If you are energetic, collaborative and passionate about providing dynamic and exceptional programming for older adults then this is the opportunity for you. This position oversees the day to day operations of the programs primarily at 5 Deauville Lane, including both Active Living and Adult Day Programs. This will include developing, implementing and evaluating programs and also monitoring and assessing programs and clients throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Social Service Worker (SSW), Gerontology Diploma, or related education/credentials (e.g., Activationist, Recreation Therapist)
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin (Cantonese speaking is an asset)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in community services, preferably with a senior population
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in planning and executing special events
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification within the first 3 months of employment
  • Successful Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment

  • Cantonese speaking is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating Active Living and Adult Day Programs to meet the needs of members and clients
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of programs, including facilitating recreational activities, special events, and community-based programming
  • Monitoring program quality and outcomes on an ongoing basis to ensure effectiveness
  • Developing and maintaining program calendars, and preparing and proofing seasonal/bi-annual program guides and communications (e.g., weekly e-blasts)
  • Providing ongoing, client-centered support to members, clients, and caregivers
  • Utilizing AlayaCare to manage client data and support program operations, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping
  • Working with the Volunteer Services team to recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate volunteers, including performance reviews and tracking volunteer hours within the system
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop, design, deliver, and continuously improve program initiatives
  • Supporting financial and budget management for daily program operations
  • Completing administrative duties including reports, correspondence, and attendance tracking
  • Contributing to the development and refinement of operational procedures
  • Traveling between program sites (1 Overland Dr. and 5 Deauville Ln.) as required
  • Working evening and weekend shifts as needed
  • Adhering to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
