About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a part-time Coordinator of Community Outreach with the College of Engineering. The Coordinator of Community Outreach is responsible for the management and promotion of outreach activities that strive to increase the number of ethnic minorities, low income, and first-generation college-bound students who are eligible to enter a degree program at a university.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years (2) of related work experience OR Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience
  • Related Experience: Student support functions such as recruitment, coordination of pipeline programs, tutoring, educational support services or related
  • Drivers’ License

Nice To Haves

  • General budget and accounting principles
  • Preparing reports, presentations, evaluations, forms, and budgets

  • Proficiency using personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Organize College of Engineering participation in community events focused on STEM
  • Plan on-campus events related to STEM
  • Recruit, and oversee paid mentors (STEMbassadors) in collaboration with the Coordinator of K-12 Outreach
  • Maintain donor stewardship reporting
  • Manage budgets
  • Participate in faculty grant applications
