About The Position

Coordinates and manages all stages of assigned Workforce Education course & program development, implementation and delivery, data management, documentation, and reporting of outcomes. (Massage Therapy and Somatic Movement Education)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, coordinates, implements, and facilitates various Workforce Education training & education projects, including curriculum development, instructional staff, calendars, and timelines.
  • Plans and implements all training & education project activities, including scheduling stakeholder meetings, developing agendas, gathering and maintaining data integrity, and writing monthly and closeout reports.
  • Coordinates logistics, facilities, equipment, and resources for professional delivery and completion of assigned courses and programs, ensuring equipment and labs meet industry requirements.
  • Collaborates with other areas within the School of Community Education (SCE) and Austin Community College (ACC), and with other stakeholders (including business and community-based partners) for training project development and implementation.
  • Coordinates with agencies to provide training & education programs for their clients and/or employees, and assists with contract negotiations.
  • Identifies and supports internship, clinical, and/or practicum sites for assigned program areas.
  • Serves on business and community advisory boards and ACC committees.
  • Organizes and facilitates all aspects of instructional delivery for assigned training & education courses and programs.
  • Generates curriculum plans based on unique business and community needs, and researches and secures curriculum solutions.
  • Confirms all coursework complies with relevant state agency regulations, credentialing requirements, and/or accrediting body requirements for professional continuing education units (CEU).
  • Hires and coordinates qualified instructional staff.
  • Arranges for classroom space and equipment, and orders supplies/books.
  • Documents class results and evaluations.
  • Collaborates with ACC academic departments to ensure delivery of integrated courses and opportunities for internships, clinicals, jobs, and stackable credentials.
  • Maintains fiscal accountability and documentation of assigned program budgets, equipment, resources, course pricing, and instructor payroll.
  • Manages instructional payroll.
  • Performs administrative tasks related to class implementation, including ordering books, duplication, hourly and instructor payroll, and partner billing and collections.
  • Serves as a communication liaison with area employers, industry-specific professional organizations, advisory boards, potential students, and other groups to support communication flow and promotional efforts.
  • Promotes and provides information on courses and programs, assisting with the creation and maintenance of forms, web resources, and marketing materials; also maintains listservs and promotes programs through network channels.
  • Interfaces with community organizations and internally within ACC to represent assigned Workforce Education areas and programs.
  • Advises current and prospective CE students regarding training & education courses and programs, providing information on requirements, and career opportunities.
  • Reviews and approves students' drops, adds, transfers, and grades.
  • Addresses CE student issues, complaints, and suggestions for improvements, including assistance with de-escalation of student conduct and classroom safety issues.
  • Assists with occupational exposure protocols and reporting, including pre- and post-care of student and instructor injuries or exposures.
  • Develops, tracks, and analyzes community and business needs assessments for new courses and programs.
  • Performs technical, analytical, and related tasks for the collection, interpretation, aggregation, and evaluation of data for training project reporting and management purposes.
  • Assists with improving program efficiencies and reducing costs associated with the provision of CE training & education courses and programs.
  • Ensures that training & education courses and programs are aligned with labor market needs and actively manages program performance against defined institutional impact metrics.
  • Leads the development and writing of monthly and final project reports, including grant-related reporting as necessary.
  • Assists the ACC Grant Writing Department to develop, write, revise, edit, and submit grant proposals to funding agencies (with a focus on Texas Workforce Commission grants), ensuring submission criteria are met.
  • Participates in technical training provided by funding agencies and stays informed of changing grant standards and guidelines.
  • Oversees workflow and work priorities of support staff who assist with courses and programs in assigned program areas.
  • Recruits, hires, and manages instructors and staff for all assigned education & training programs.
