About The Position

The Central Staff Scheduling Coordinator supports workforce scheduling operations across multiple hospital locations, helping ensure appropriate staffing coverage and efficient scheduling practices. The role collaborates with clinical leaders, team members, and operational partners to manage staffing needs, schedule changes, and workforce support activities. The coordinator uses UKG and Microsoft Excel to manage schedules, track staffing data, generate reports, and support workforce planning initiatives.

New hires complete 6 to 8 weeks of onsite training at the hospital locations they support before moving to a hybrid work model. After training, team members work virtually and onsite at the Corewell Health Southfield Center approximately 2 to 3 days per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in office, clerical or secretarial work, health care, customer service, computer applications, or scheduling.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in a related field.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze shift-by-shift staffing variances by unit and reallocate or cancel staff according to standard procedures.
• Assign float and flex pool team members to units with staffing deficits and communicate assignments to team members according to standard procedures.
• Use staffing and scheduling software to perform scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll duties as directed by leadership.
• Attend meetings, compile data, perform staffing recruitment tasks, and assist leadership as directed.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and team members from other departments.
• Help others as needed to contribute to the success of the department and Corewell Health.
