About The Position

The Central Staff Scheduling Coordinator supports workforce scheduling operations for multiple hospital locations, helping ensure appropriate staffing coverage and efficient scheduling practices. The role collaborates with clinical leaders, team members, and operational partners to manage staffing needs, schedule adjustments, and workforce support activities. The coordinator uses UKG and Microsoft Excel to manage schedules, track staffing data, generate reports, and support workforce planning initiatives. New hires complete 6 to 8 weeks of onsite training at the hospital locations they support before transitioning to a hybrid work model. After training, team members work virtually and onsite at Corewell Health Southfield Center approximately 2 to 3 days per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of relevant experience in office, clerical or secretarial work, health care, customer service, computer applications, or scheduling.
• Ability to use UKG and Microsoft Excel for scheduling, staffing data, reports, and workforce planning activities.

• Associate's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyze shift-by-shift staffing variances by unit and reallocate or cancel staff following standard procedures.
• Assign float and flex pool team members to units with staffing deficits and communicate assignments following standard procedures.
• Use staffing and scheduling software to perform scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll duties as directed by leadership.
• Attend meetings, compile data, perform staffing recruitment tasks, and assist leadership as directed.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and team members from other departments, and help others as needed to support the department and Corewell Health.
