About The Position

The Jackson R. Lehman Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and attentive part-time Cooking Instructor. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the instructor leads and teaches cooking classes, develops meals and food lists, manages class participants, and teaches cooking techniques. The instructor builds a curriculum based on their skills and has creative control over class themes, recipes, and scheduling. The role also helps participants learn and grow while fostering connections in the community.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation to attend work.
• Able to fulfill the demands and skills of a cooking instructor in spirit, mind, and body in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Positive, service-oriented attitude when serving diverse groups across age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, and other differences.
• Willingness to contribute as a team player to the culture, mission, and values of the Y.

Nice To Haves

• Previous cooking experience with certifications is preferred.
