About The Position
Insomnia Cookies is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their new store opening team in Grand Rapids as part of the Cookie Crew. As a Cookie Crew Member, you will be the face of the bakery, interacting with customers, and also responsible for baking the cookies. The role involves creating a positive customer experience, preparing and packaging various treats, operating the register, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting team members. This is a fast-paced role perfect for those who enjoy working with people in an energetic environment and making customers' days sweeter.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Frequently reach, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and lift.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds regularly.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Use hands and fingers to handle bakery equipment, food products, and a point-of-sale system.
- Work in environments with varying temperatures, including around ovens, freezers, and refrigeration units.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Read order screens, recipes, and safety information.
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome every guest with genuine hospitality and make every interaction memorable.
- Prepare, bake, and package warm cookies, brownies, ice cream, and other treats to Insomnia's quality standards.
- Accurately prepare in-store, pickup, delivery, and online orders.
- Operate the register and process guest transactions.
- Keep the bakery clean, stocked, organized, and food-safe throughout every shift.
- Jump in wherever your team needs you, whether that's restocking supplies, helping a teammate, or keeping the line moving.
- Resolve guest concerns with empathy and urgency, partnering with your Shift Leader when needed.
- Deliver the kind of experience that turns first-time guests into lifelong Insomniacs.
